Progress.
So I havent found the time lately to blog about all the work I've been doing for 316, but there's been alot so I'll make a list today and go into more detial in the next few days.
The bigger problem I've come across, is the loss of all of my textures. Every texture created for 315 was lost at the end of simester when my backups became corrupt. Right now my whole project from last simester is without texture, and so far I've begun rebuilding all the textures to fit the UV unwraps. So far, one of the characters, the mantis, the bamboo, and the building have been done. I still need to do the phesant, the main character, and I'm afraid I'll have to recreate the terrain from scratch, as that kind of texture cannot be recreated within unity in the same way it is in maya.

I've finally started fleshing out my story board, and will scan and post it. I've simplified my initial idea a fair bit, so that there wouldnt be a need for aditional characters. One change I did want to make, was the introduction of a zen garden scene through in which I'll show the protagonist's prgression and training. So far I've created several models for this, including three trees, rocks and a rock pathway, a new variaty of bamboo, lillypads, and misc shrubs/plants statues and a wall. I'm now at the point where i have to start compiling all these assets, and work out how to do the waterfalls I want to include.
I've begun the final animation for the final product, and I'm blocking out the sequences now. Ive come across unexpected problems when animating my FBIK rigs though, and thats slowing me down though I'm currently looking into tutorials that will help me overcome these problems.
The completion of the storyboard is my priority at this point, as I want to show it on friday the 20'th for assignment 1 during class, and it should serve as a starting point for the sound student who'll produce content for the final.
